Soldier Visits Tinker Students

June 15, 2017 - Throughout the school year, fifth graders in Miss Ouellette's class at Tinker School have been writing to a soldier stationed overseas, sending him letters and cards to express their gratitude for his service and to give him a small sense of home. Now home, Technical Sargent Dan Pittari visited the students in their classroom this morning to thank them for their year-long correspondence.

Sgt. Pittari explained he was unable to send letters back to the students while deployed but that he greatly appreciated all of their notes and cards, and that he shared them with other soldiers. He was stationed in the United Arab Emirates but was sent out to work in several other Middle Eastern countries. His job was repairing generators and motors for equipment used by our troops.
