Operation Warm Comes to Driggs School

Local firefighters, with the support of MacDermid and Cigna, provided warm winter coats for selected students at Driggs School on Friday, January 13th, as part of an Operation Warm project. Each year, local firefighters donate their time and fund-raise to purchase coats for elementary-age children in Waterbury, selecting a new distribution site each year. Both MacDermid and Cigna contributed additional funds for this year's project.  Operation Warm is a national program that assists local non-profit organizations to provide brand-new coats for elementary age children.

Fire Chief David Martin, School Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Ouellette and Joe Geary, representing the Mayor's office, along with numerous firefighters, local and school officials, Frank Monteiro from MacDermid and Michael Donnelly from Cigna, were on hand to see the joy the children had at receiving the coats.
