Early Closing
In the event of an early dismissal from school due to storms, heating difficulties, etc., it is important, especially when parents are not at home during the day, that your child be instructed where to go and what to do.
Please keep in mind that when dealing with a storm situation, most people are aware of the possibility of an early dismissal.  However, parents cannot know individual school building events such as a heating breakdown or loss of water.  As a result it is important that each child be instructed as to what to do if school is dismissed early for any reason.

Before-School Regulations
All students who walk to school should walk on the sidewalk.  If it is necessary to cross the street, students should follow the directions of the crossing guard.
Children who receive breakfast in school should arrive at school at 8:10 a.m. and report directly to the cafeteria.  All other students should arrive between 8:10 and 8:25 a.m.  Students are supervised in the hallways where they sit and wait until the bell rings to signal the time students are to enter their classrooms.

Dismissal Procedures
Walkers are dismissed via the side door and are escorted immediately off school grounds towards their home by an assigned teacher promptly at dismissal. No walkers are allowed to loiter on school grounds.

Car Pick-Ups

All car pick-ups are dismissed and stationed outside at assigned locations (see below) by grade level.
All parents/guardians MUST pick up and greet their child(ren) in the assigned areas.
Parents/guardians will be asked to give their name to the teacher assigned to the station before their child will be released.
NO CHILD WILL BE ABLE TO LEAVE THEIR STATION AND JUMP INTO A CAR OR WALK ELESWHERE TO MEET A PARENT/GUARDIAN.
CAR PICK-UP STATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Kindergarten students:  Stationed outside the front doorways to theRIGHT of the school building.
Grades 1 and 2 students:  Stationed outside of the front doorways to the LEFT of the school building.
Grades 3, 4, and 5 students:  Stationed outside of the SIDE DOORWAY the right of the school building.

Parents who pick-up their children from school are asked to refrain from parking in the section reserved for school buses.  Cars parked along the curb prevent the school buses from loading the students from the sidewalk and causes confusion and a potentially dangerous situation.  Please also remember that we are in a smoke-free zone while waiting for students.  No smoking on school grounds.
