April showers bring May flowers? We will start having outdoor recess. Parents please make sure your child comes to school prepared for the cool weather we will be sending the children out to recess daily when weather permits. It would be best if their names are in their coat someplace in-case they get missed placed during the day. We do have a lost and found outside the office door if your child is missing something.
Our restorative practice focus has been showing respect for ourselves and others. Students and staff are discussing and modeling what being respectful looks like and why it’s so important. We will be having a special speaker, Leslie Carlson from the State Department of Education on April 10th to help you better understand the philosophy behind restorative practices and the vision we are developing for our school.
We are continuing to work on bus behavior. Improvement has been noticeable with fewer office referrals. Please continue to reinforce positive bus behavior. We are asking all students who ride a bus in the afternoon to please have a book in their book bag to read while they are waiting in the gym for their bus to come. When on the bus, make sure students understand that they are to remain seated at all times unless they are exiting the bus at their stop or at school. The purpose of the bus is to get your child to and from school safely. With your help we want to ensure that every child at Generali riding a school bus is safe!
As we settle into the routine of school, please remember to have your student in the building by 8:35 to avoid being tardy. We understand absences happen, please follow attendance procedures if your student is absent. Send in a doctor note or a parent note when the student returns. Once your student has missed 4 days in one month, or 10 days in a school year you will need to come in and meet with the attendance counselor. Please feel free to call me with any questions/concerns you have.
