Dear Regan Families,
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. I want to commend students, parents, teachers and staff for their tremendous efforts to work together so that all of our Regan students can continue learning.
I want to assure you that teachers and staff at Regan have been doing their very best to meet the needs of your child(ren) during this period of distance learning. As you know, we have been using “Google Meets” as a way to keep students engaged in the learning process. You can check the times that your child’s teacher is available for the Google Meets in their Google Classroom under “Classwork”. It will be listed as one of the topics at top of the page. Please know that all certified staff will be available to meet through the “Google Classroom” throughout the week. This includes specials teachers and specialists. Please check the stream in Google Classroom for messages and reminders.
To make June fun and keep our students engaged in learning, we are doing something fun for each day in June where students can post a picture or write about something in the stream to their classmates. Each morning I remind students during the morning announcements that I post in the Stream of the Google Classroom. I will have a surprise task for them at some point during the week of June 8th.
If you have not picked up your child’s belongings, please do so from 9am – 3pm this week. We have things that were left in the lockers, desks, free new books for summer reading from the Scholastic Book Club, a Regan book bag and grade 1 will also receive a box of Legos. Everything that belongs to your child has been placed in a labeled bag that will be given to you when you arrive. Our café workers will be at the front window from 9am until noon all week. After 12pm, please ring the doorbell. Someone will be available until 3pm, Monday – Friday this week. The last day of school for the 2019-2020 school year is Wednesday, June 17th.
Please rest assured that a plan for next year is already being created regardless of how we come back to school for the 2020-2021 school year. We WILL meet the needs of every child. I will share information regarding report cards in an updated letter before summer break begins. Be safe and stay healthy.
