Regan School students helped stock trout at Fulton Park Friday, April 7th in time for fishing season. The students were excited to participate during an official Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s Trout Stocking by dumping buckets of trout into the water.
DEEP has partnered with Regan for several events which have brought the students an opportunity to see science and education in action:
• Family Outdoor Discovery Program which had 4th graders boating, partiicpating in science experiments with a National Geographic author, attending an Animals of the Night program and creating campsites with their families
• Families were offered transportation to the DEEP No Child Left Inside® Winter Festival at Burr Pond in February
• ESH after-school program students built air quality particle sensors using Arduino boards
In May, students will participate in an Art in the Park adventure at Topsmead State Park with DEEP wildlife staff, National Park Service staff, and the school's art teacher.
