Kindergarten

Students continue to learn about art through lessons in the Explorations in Art curriculum including elements of art, such as, line, shape, color and texture.

First Grade

Students continue to learn about art through lessons in the Explorations in Art curriculum.  Students have created special Valentine Day’s cards that Representative Stephanie Cummings will be distributing to residents in nursing homes.

Students in first grade 1P have taken two vocabulary art assessments and all students have shown improvement as we review and learn about these in our art projects: types of lines, shapes – geometric and free form, texture, pattern, primary and secondary colors, portrait and self-portrait. All students should be familiar with these terms by the end of the school year

Second Grade

Students continue to learn about art through lessons in the Explorations in Art curriculum. Students have created special Valentine Day’s cards that Representative Stephanie Cummings will be distributing to residents in nursing homes. Second grade is also working on kindness rocks that will also go to residents in nursing home.  Rocks were made possible through a “Go Fund Me” through Miss Mclaren. Students will also get to make one to keep.

Students in grade 2S have taken two vocabulary art assessments and all students have shown improvement as we review and learn about these in our art projects: primary and secondary colors, types of lines, shapes, subject, warm and cool colors, collage, mood and motion. All students should be familiar with these terms by the end of the school year.
