Walsh Family Resource Center

Mr. Parker has been a resident of Waterbury all of his life.  He is married and has four daughters.  Mr. Parker went to Slocum Elementary School, then to Crosby then graduated with a Bachelors Degree in history from Norfolk State College in Virginia.  He is retired from the Department of Corrections where he worked for 22 years as well as sitting on the Board of Education of Waterbury as Vice President for 8 years.

In the 1970’s, Mr. Parker worked at Walsh School in the after school program teaching math and reading.  He chose to come to Walsh School because he feels like “this is his community and he feels connected – It is the community I grew up in.”  Walsh School has changed since he has worked here last.  “The Atmosphere is indusive to learning”.

Every month there will be a “Things to know…” section in the Walsh Web where you will be able to find out dates of upcoming events, new school policies, etc.  We will also be adding a space for parents to ask Mr. Parker a question in regards to the school or events.  Every month one question will be answered.  We look forward to your questions…
