     School cancellations, late openings, or early dismissals due to inclement weather or other emergencies are broadcast over television channels 3, 8, 30, local Channel 16 and over radio stations WATR, WTIC, WPOP, and WWCO
 
Early Closing
     In the event of an early dismissal from school due to storms, heating difficulties, etc., it is important, especially when parents are not at home during the day, that your child be instructed where to go and what to do.
     Please keep in mind that when dealing with a storm situation, most people are aware of the possibility of an early dismissal.  However, parents cannot know individual school building events such as a heating breakdown or loss of water.  As a result it is important that each child be instructed as to what to do if school is dismissed early for any reason.
 
Before-School Regulations
     All students who walk to school should walk on the sidewalk.  If it is necessary to cross the street, students should follow the directions of the crossing guard.
     Children who receive breakfast in school should arrive at school at 8:05 a.m. and report to the dinning room. All other students should arrive between 8:10 and 8:25 a.m.  Kindergarten students are supervised in the gym, and students from first to fifth grade are supervised on the basketball court where they will wait until the bell rings to signal the time students are to enter the school building.
 
Dismissal Procedures
     Walkers are dismissed via the front door.  Parents who pick-up their children from school may park along the sidewalk. Because we are a smoke free zone, please remember that there is no smoking on school grounds while waiting for students.
