Principal's Message

Jennifer Rosser
Principal

Dear Woodrow Wilson Parents and Community,

As principal of Wilson, it is my pleasure to welcome all families, students, staff and community partners to share in our mission to provide a collaborative learning environment that engages a meaningful education program that motivates students to reach their full potential, succeed in college, in the workforce and as productive respectful citizens now and in the future.

We are off to another great year with students working hard and discovering their interests and talents through the variety of “Specials” and technology based academic programs they are exposed to every day.   Classrooms are filled with our students’ energy and enthusiasm for learning, as teachers provide small group instruction at every students’ instructional focus level, while other students work cooperatively in centers constructively applying curriculum learned in small and whole group.

With our district’s and school’s aim of having a greater emphasis on safety, improving academic outcomes and high student achievement school-wide, Wilson will continue to incorporate the core values of the school PBIS positive behavior support program: PAWS – Pay Attention, Act Respectfully, Work Smart and Stay safe.  Using these as our guiding principles, each child will be encouraged and supported in working to his/her full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.  We have also restructured our students’ arrival, dismissal, cafeteria and recess procedures to ensure greater safety for our students and staff as we begin, go through and end our day.  Please consistently review these Wilson core values with your child.

We hope that you will find our website helpful and informative, as our monthly newsletter is posted, as well as all the exciting upcoming events throughout the year.  Each teacher works hard to keep our Wilson parents, students & community well informed by providing their own class webpages about the great things happening in their classrooms and throughout our school.  Excellent online learning resources are also available and can be accessed directly from our school webpage.

As we are in our 4th year together, I am honored to continue to serve as the principal of Woodrow Wilson Elementary School.  It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic, social and emotional growth.

Once again, let’s make it another great year at Wilson together!

Best Regards,

Jennifer Rosser
