Congratulations to the students of the WAMS Music Department-


High School Concert Band –First Place-Rating of Excellent


Senior String Orchestra- First Place-Rating of Excellent


Middle School Chorus-First Place-Rating of Superior-and best Overall Middle School Chorus


**AND the entire department received the very elusive “Esprit de Corps” Award- a VERY distinctive honor that awards behavior, attitude and professionalism….and all THREE groups won it for the school. That means that approx 120 students brought their “A Game” as well as the best spirit and attitude possible in a school!


We could not be more proud!

~CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAST AND CREW OF MEMPHIS FOR AN EXCELLENT EVENING OF THEATRE AT THE PALACE!  The Company would like to thank all those patrons who came out to see the performance!  We hope you enjoyed the Show!

##Attention WAMS Juniors - Please turn in your Yellow Senior Showcase forms to Mrs. Smith ASAP so we can plan your 2019 Senior Showcase!

!!AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT!! - Get ready for the new WAMS Theatre Season 2018-2019.  Mr. Post will be auditioning for the FALL Musical on JUNE 4th!  Check the large call board for more information!

{May 17th - 8th grade students and HS Theatre classes came together for a performance of HAMLET produced by Shakesperience Productions through generous donation by the WAMS Theatre Department for the Production)


*June 6th - Drama Classroom - FREE - 6pm performance - (Limited seating - please contact Mrs. Smith: for an evening ticket)
Period 2 - Acting Showcase
"Anon(ymous)" written by Naomi Iizuka; Direct byu: Mrs. Smith

*June 7th - Drama Classroom - FREE - 5pm Performance Act I; 7pm Performance Act II (Limited Seating)
Period 5 - Director's Showcase
Various 1 Act and 10 minutes plays directed by students.


WAMS Halo Award Winners

In this year's Halos over 100 schools participated and over 6000 students were evaluated for their involvement in Theatre around the state!

WAMS had 15 nominations and won 5 Halo Awards!
They are:

Best Comic Male Performance in a Musical  (tie)- Dior Barnes for Memphis

Best Chorus –Memphis

Gypsy of the Year (a special award based on the Broadway award for the performer who exhibits great spirit, flexibility and promise-student rep is chosen by each school, and then the committee chooses one for all the students submitted)- this year they chose WAMS’ Tyler Nizzardo and gave him a monetary award/ scholarship as well!

Special Recognition Halo Award to an Up and Coming Actor – Eric Canfield

Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Contemporary Musical- Zani Scott
