Dear WPS Community,
As we finalize preparations for an unprecedented school year, Waterbury Public Schools is committed to strengthening communication with our students, families and school community. We are thrilled to announce that we are implementing a new communication platform called ParentSquare. ParentSquare is a simple and collaborative school-home communication platform to reach and engage every parent, ensuring all parents have the opportunity to actively participate in their child’s education. It will allow WPS to unify all parent communication from the District, schools, classrooms and school activity groups under one umbrella, providing an improved and seamless experience for parents and staff. Parents will be able to keep track of news, activities and events from all their children’s schools in one place. It provides a safe way for Principals, teachers, staff and parents to:
We will begin rolling out ParentSquare on Monday, August 24. Please anticipate an email, text and/or phone call to register on Thursday, the 27th or Friday, the 28th. You will receive updates to your computer or phone. We also encourage you to download the free App and, at your convenience, watch this video, which provides an overview of ParentSquare.
A portion of the District website will be dedicated to ParentSquare support as parents and families navigate and learn the new platform. The Help & Support question mark in the top right corner of the app and at www.parentsquare.com will also help answer most of your questions. Please reach out to your child’s school if you have any questions.
WPS is hopeful that ParentSquare’s intuitive layout and features will facilitate greater communication. WPS’ partnership with ParentSquare will enable a stronger dialogue between school and home, and will help empower everyone within the school community to stay connected and informed.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming our students back in just a couple of weeks.
Dr. Verna D. Ruffin, Superintendent
