Waterbury Career Academy High School is a member of the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools.
Qualifications for membership are based on the four pillars of the National Honor Society: character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
SCHOLARSHIP: A student must have an average of 85 minimum (3.5 GPA).
LEADERSHIP: A student must be actively involved in at least two school clubs, organizations or sports for aperiod of two years.
CHARACTER: Students will meet the Character standard with the following:
- Two written letters of recommendation from teachers.
- Recommendation from a guidance counselor.
- Recommendation from a vice-principal.
- No discipline referral which resulted in an out-of-school suspension.
SERVICE: A student must have rendered to the school or the community at least ten (10) service hours per school year at the time of application for membership.
A faculty council of 6 members will review applications and consider a student’s eligibility on the four qualities listed above.
