The Wallace Middle School community works collaboratively to create a student-centered educational experience that emphasizes a commitment to academic excellence and citizenship.  Students are guided to become critical thinkers and responsible citizens in a diverse society.

We believe …

· How children learn is as important as what they learn.

· An understanding of the students and families-individually, culturally, and developmentally-is as important as knowing the content we teach.

· Public education is a responsibility shared by students, parents, school personnel, and community members.

· Mutual trust and respect are essential for sustaining and improving safe and successful schools.

Parents may request, and the district will provide, information regarding the professional qualifications of the student’s teachers and paraprofessionals.

CT Is Standing Up for Public Schools

The National School Board Association and its state associations, including the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, have banded together to share the successes of public schools. NSBA has gathered the support of such superstars as Magic Johnson, Montel Williams and Sal Khan. As part of its efforts, Connecticut has developed a video that stars Rick Matracchio, a Waterbury native.
