Selected students in grades six, seven, and eight are furthering their reading and writing skills in our literacy classrooms. This is a great way for students to work on the skills that he/she will need to succeed in their middle and high school educational careers. These skills are appropriately designed off of the current State of Connecticut Educational Standards and also the strands of the Connecticut Mastery Test.
The curriculum design changes from marking period to marking period based on assessments given to each student to diagnose areas of struggling. Once these areas are identified per classroom, the teachers develop a curriculum geared towards strengthening those areas of weakness.
