Immigration Resources: Family Preparedness Plan

The State of Connecticut has developed a Family Preparedness plan for families. The plan was designed specifically to assist parents or guardians who are concerned that they may become separated from their children if they are detained or deported due to matters of immigration enforcement. The tool kit offers simple steps anyone can take without needing the assistance of a lawyer or court action, such as completing a child care plan or identifying a trusted adult to care for the child in the parent or guardian's absence.

If you are concerned about what might happen to your children if you are detained or deported, the plan will help you prepare a specific plan that would be followed in the event something did happen. While we hope that you never have to put your plan into action, it is always better to be prepared.
