22 CARNEGIE UNITS ARE REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION!

Note - ONE CARNEGIE UNIT = ONE CREDIT (or two half-year courses)

 

COURSE DISTRIBUTION – REQUIRED COURSES

ENGLISH 4 credits

 SOCIAL STUDIES 3 credits

1 ½ years of US History

½ year of CIVICS

 MATH 3 credits

 SCIENCE 2 credits

 PHYSICAL EDUCATION 1 credit

Includes 1 marking period of HEALTH EDUCATION

ART or VOCATIONAL ED 1 credit

TECH or COMPUTERS 1 credit

 

Students MUST demonstrate proficiency in MATH and LITERACY through the CAPT test OR an alternative designated by the Waterbury Board of Education.

 

College bound students are STRONGLY recommended to take 4 credits (4 years) of English, math, science and social studies. In addition, at least 2 years (minimum) of one foreign language is recommended for admission to college.
