Waterbury Partners In Education

Share what you know with students in the Waterbury Public Schools!

Partners In Education provides schools with community resources to enhance students' academic and social development. Business volunteers bring students into contact with the "outside world," building bridges between their perceptions and their expectations and providing students with the real-world link to their academic courses.

Businesses benefit as well. In addition to establishing a positive corporate image, participating businesses play an active role in improving educational opportunities.  This in turn strengthens the local economy and the future workforce.

Businesses have an opportunity to:

  • invest in the quality of the future workforce
  • join in a collective business effort to improve educational opportunities
  • participate in a dialog with educational leaders
  • invest in the improvement of the quality of life in the community
  • meet and work with students

By joining, businesses become a part of the school to business partnership team that is working hard to make the most of educational and human resources in our community.

Students and schools may reciprocate in several ways.  For example, students may provide art for exhibits or offer drama, choral or musical performances.  Even more importantly, employees who volunteer in schools come back to work re-energized and more motivated than ever.

The Waterbury Public Schools thank these and other businesses and organizations for their contributions to our students and schools:
