Wendell Cross will be transformed into a state-of-the-art Pre-K through 8th Grade school. The groundbreaking marks the beginning of Phase I of the Project with a projected completion date of July 2021. The State Department of Administrative Services approved a modified and expanded project scope for the Wendell Cross school on May 16, 2019. The city’s Board of Aldermen and Board of Education initially approved the project in 2016.
Upon completion, the Pre-K to 8th Grade school will welcome nearly 700 students with stimulating classrooms and creative art, music and technology spaces. The school will also have a secure vestibule for visitor access.
