The City of Waterbury and Waterbury Public Schools are delighted to celebrate the progress of the construction of the new Wendell Cross Pre-K to 8 School with a ‘topping off’ ceremony.

 

Waterbury Career Academy Accepting Applications for the 2021-2022 School Year

Waterbury Career Academy is currently accepting new applications for all 8th grade students living in Waterbury. Applications must be submitted by Friday, December 11.

Governor Lamont Encourages Students to Participate in Cybersecurity Competition

Governor Ned Lamont is urging high school students in Connecticut to participate in CyberStart America, an innovative, national cybersecurity competition that encourages young adults to explore their aptitude for the exciting, lucrative, postsecondary pathways available in cybersecurity and computer science. The program, sponsored by the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation and the SANS Institute, is free to enter, and all schools and students in grades 9 to 12 are invited to enter the challenge to compete for the chance to win scholarships, prizes and recognition for themselves and their schools.

 

 

Eemax® Celebrates Global Handwashing Day with “Heart of Comfort” Handwashing Portable Station Donation to WPS Sprague Elementary School fifth grader Lizmar Ryder demonstrates how to use Eemax's portable handwashing station.

Headquartered in Waterbury, Eemax, has donated ten of its new Handwashing Portable Stations to Waterbury Public Schools to help provide students access to safe and effective handwashing while at school, as part of its “Heart of Comfort” program. The City of Waterbury and WPS are extremely grateful for the company’s generous donation and its support of the district’s deep commitment to continue to provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff.
