Important Information for Parents and Families Regarding Flu Immunization for Preschool

The Connecticut State Department of Public Health has made it mandatory that all children over the age of six months and in a childcare or preschool setting be immunized against the flu or they cannot return to their childcare or preschool setting on January 2, 2020.  Documentation of your child receiving the flu vaccine must be received by the school nurse as soon as possible.

If by January 2 your child’s school nurse has not received documentation of having received the immunization, the student will be excluded from school.  Children who are exempt from this must have a documented medical exemption from their pediatrician or a religious exemption in place with the school nurse.

The Offices of Early Childhood and School Readiness in partnership with the StayWell Health Center will offer a flu clinic on Thursday, December 12 from 12:00-6:00 p.m at 80 Phoenix Avenue.
