Homework

One of the most important skills students learn in school is to read. It is not only important to be able to read words, but it is important to understand what you are reading. It is my passion to teach students all the skills they need to become successful readers, but in order for them to apply this knowledge they must READ!

Every night for homework, your child is to read for 30 minutes. It should be a book slightly above their level, giving them the opportunity to grow. If students do not have access to books, they are more than welcome to borrow a book from my extensive classroom library. Once students have read they need to fill out their reading log. Their reading log must be filled out to completion for full credit. This is what I am looking for:

Title of the Book

Author of the Book

A Summary on what they read about

A prediction on what is going to happen next in the book

Parents initials

Amount of time they read for

STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO FILL OUT THERE READING LOG EVEN IF THEY ARE ABSENT AS THEY SHOULD ALREADY HAVE THE LOG AT HOME!
