October 10, 2016 Cleaning up -- frost is coming -- removed green tomatoes to ripen, pulled out plants, added compost to fall planting beds

February 2017 Penny Wars are Underway!
February 2017 Making a list of supplies we need for 2017 -- more ladders, some tomato some seed starters
February 2017 Kicking off the UCONN FAN IM program -- we'll have things happening all summer
May 17, 2017 UCONN FANs IM students lined the beds, filled them with soil, and planted 6 of them with tomatoes, peppers, squash, lettuce, watermelons, basil, and mint
May 31, 2017 Fifth Graders got their STEM reward for raising the most money in the Penny Wars -- Make Your Own Ice Cream! Thank you Diamond Ice.
June 5, 2017 Finished up the planting -- corn, flowers to draw pollenators, onions, a pumpkin, some squash and trellised the strawberries.
June 26, 2017 Miss Cabrera's corn is growing! The pumpkins have exploded and the plant has taken over the mound
July 15, 2017 Almost 8 pounds of zucchini harvested, along with lettuce & patty pan squash
July 20, 2017 Chef comes to Regan and makes raspberry jam -- didn't really gel, but it's delicious on vanilla ice cream
July 29, 2017 More zucchini and in a few weeks we might have a TON of tomatoes, if we get some HEAT!!!! Bring it on.
Summer 2017 We harvested over 100 pounds of produce from our garden, everything from berries to tomatoes.  Some kids found new favorites, including eggplant and banana peppers.
January 2018 Regan School receives a @RecycleCT grant to begin composting our fruit and veggie waste -- classroom to garden
February 2018 Penny Wars are Underway!
March 3, 2018 Mrs. DeFazio, Mr. Welch & Miss Williams attend Food, Land, People Training at Kellogg Environmental Center
March 2018 Miss Williams orders some seeds to use our grow light with and requests a donation from Baker Creek
March 2018 Composting bins for the classrooms ordered from Gardeners Supply.
