About Miss Carpentieri

Hello parents & students! Welcome to my little piece of the internet. ;)

My name is Miss Carpentieri and I am a 4th grade teacher here at Washington. This will be my 5th year of teaching and my 5th year at Washington!

I was born and raised here in Waterbury, Connecticut. Although I went to a private elementary/middle school, I attended John F. Kennedy High School here in Waterbury. I was in the S.O.A.R. program and graduated from there in 2005. After high school, I went to the University of Connecticut where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. While at UCONN, I got a job with the YMCA as a Head Teacher in their before & after school programs. Because of that job, I fell in love with teaching and once I graduated from UCONN, I went to the University of Bridgeport to get my Master's Degree in Elementary Education.

I interned and student taught at Bunker Hill Elementary School in Waterbury, CT in 5th grade. Shortly after that I was hired here at Washington and I have been here ever since!

I am looking forward to a wonderful year with a new batch of kiddos! In my opinion, 4th grade is the best grade because students become more mature and take learning more seriously. It is also filled with many fun and exciting things and I can't wait to share it all with you!
