Welcome to Third Grade & the 3D Webpage
It's been a great start to the year and I can't believe it's October! Don't forget we have No School on Monday, 10/9, for Columbus Day.
Our current focus in math is: Multiplication. We are working on different strategies to solve multiplication equations. For example: repeated addition, equal group drawings, using an array, and skip counting are all approprite strategies. Practicing at home with your child will reinforce this skill. In ELA we are working on Story Elements and Summarization. Students are being asked to identify the characters, setting, problem, and solution in a story. Any read alouds that you do at home will be a good opportunity for students to practice identifying story elements.
We've finished Judy Moody and The Magic Finger, by Roald Dahl. Roald Dahl also wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
On the left side of this page you will find some websites that I recommend for skill practice.
If you have any questions throughout the year, please feel free to contact me, either via e-mail email@example.com or by calling the school office & leaving a message.
With warm wishes to all of our families for a healthy and happy school year.
