School bus routes are now available on the page labelled school bus routes under the "Parents" and "Students" links at the top right hand side of the district website landing page. This page is updated periodically when routes are changes throughout the year to accomodate new students. The page will note the latest update.

Reminder- Back to School Rally

Welcome Back. The first day of school for students is Monday. August 25th but before the summer vacation ends, families are invited back to celebrate the return to school at the annual Back to School Rally, which will be held on Wednesday, August 20th, from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm in Library Park, 267 Grand Street, Rain or Shine. All Waterbury families are invited to come and join the fun and watch Mayor O’leary and others participate in the ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE to support efforts and awareness in fighting A.L.S. The Back to School Rally is a partnership of the Waterbury Youth Services System, Waterbury Department of Education, The Mayor’s office, and other community agencies.

Special Permissions on Hold

Effective August 18, 2014 there is a hold on Special Permissions.  This will allow our schools to begin the new year and account for all students.  There will be a new Special Permission System in effect for the 2014-2015 school year. Thank you. Dr. Kathleen M. Ouellette, Superintendent of Schools

Back to School Rally

Join in the city-wide celebration of the 17th annual Back to School Rally on Wed., Aug. 20, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in Library Park, 267 Grand Street, Rain or Shine!  Police Chief Vernon Riddick will be the keynote speaker!  Come join the fun!

New Teacher Orientation

The Orientation for New Teachers will take place from August 18th through August 20th at the Waterbury Career Academy, 175 Birch Street, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please check the New Teachers Links page under "Staff" to see more detailed information for new teachers, including an agenda for the training.

Adult Education Move

The main office for adult education has now moved over to its new location in the former Barnard School location. The address is 11 Draher Street, Waterbury, CT 06708. The telephone number remains the same at 203 574-8038.

Registration for the fall trimester begins August 4th, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Evening registration begins Monday, August 18th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
