Budget
Dash and Bash

Come join the fun for the Great Dash and Bash, Saturday, June 11, in Library Park. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m.. Race begins at 10:00 a.m.. Both 5K runners and one mile walkers are welcome. The scenic downtown course starts at Library Park and ends at Pies And Pints on Leavenworth Street. Awards will be given to top age group finishers and all top overall finishers. Shutterfly Gives $40,000

Shutterfly donated $20,000 to 2016 National Teacher of the Year Jahana Hayes and $20,000 to her school, John F. Kennedy High School. The donation was announced during Mrs. Hayes' guest appearance on the "Ellen: the Ellen Degeneres Show." Hayes Honored at White House

May 3, 2016: Mrs. Jahana Hayes, 2016 National Teacher of the Year, was honored today at the White House, along with other state teachers of the year from around the country, Washington, D.C. and the American territories. Click here for the official video the event. 

NATIONAL TEACHER OF THE YEAR

April 28, 2016 -  Waterbury's very own Jahana Hayes was named NATIONAL TEACHER OF THE YEAR during a broadcast of CBS This Morning. Congratulations go to Mrs. Hayes, along with best wishes for a wonderful reign as National Teacher of the Year. SWIMMING LESSONS

The Waterbury Recreation Department and P.A.L. are offering free swim lessons for Waterbury children five years or older.  Registration must take place in person at Chase Park House, 150 Sunnyside Avenue, beginning April 25th from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  For further information please call 203-574-8292.
