Dear Waterbury Public Schools Community,
We continue to hope this finds you and your family safe and healthy.
Waterbury Public Schools deeply values our beautifully diverse community and believes that our differences are our strength. We understand that this is a very difficult and tense time in our nation, with emotions running high following the senseless death of George Floyd. Tragedies of this nature reach far beyond where they occur, deeply impact all of us in a variety of ways and remind us of the systemic and pervasive racism that exists in our country.
We continuously strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for all our students to ensure they feel a sense of belonging and connection to their school where social-emotional, physical and mental health is nurtured and valued. We assure you that any act of racism will not be tolerated and devalues all that we stand for in our school district and city.
Let us all stand together in these troubling times. Thank you for your continued support. It is greatly appreciated.
