Parent Conferences will be held at WAMS on April 23, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Please call 573-6001 to make appointment with teachers.  We will be asking parents to participate in an on-line survey that evening in our computer labs.  You can also take the surveys now by clicking on the links below.  Thank you!

The Waterbury Arts Magnet School (WAMS) provides an integrated learning environment that offers both high level academics and a comprehensive arts program.  In this environment, all students reach their artistic and academic potential.  This curriculum also provides a broad range of Advanced Placement courses and professional internship opportunities.  We also provide extensive support and direction in the selection of a conservatory, fine arts institution, college or university.


We believe that an education rich in the arts provides students with a way of perceiving the world and solving problems that extend far beyond production and performance.  A foundation built on creative expression enables students to perceive, interpret, invent and create, whether they choose to pursue additional educaton in the arts, humanities or sciences.  These are the building blocks from which goals can be realized and dreams come true

Now that the cooler weather is upon us we would like to remind our students and their parents/guardians of the City of Waterbury Board of Education Dress Code Policy.


We ask that student arrive to school in dress code.


·         Fleece tops with zippers are allowed


·         Collared shirts worn to school and must remain on throughout the school day


·         No stretch pants, leggings, yoga or sweat pants with or without pockets


·         No ‘hoodies’ or sweatshirts


·         No head scarves or bandanas


·         No denim, leather, outerwear, jackets/coats
