Bucks Hill School-Bus Expectations
Transporting your children to and from school in a safe, efficient, and timely manner is our utmost priority. Accomplishing this goal requires the combined efforts for many people, our staff, the bus drivers, the students, and you the parents. In order to transport your child safely, it is important that you and your child read and adhere to the following:
·All students who are provided with bus transportation are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly manner both at the bus stop and while riding the bus.
·Our buses are equipped with cameras. This should prevent any questions about student behavior as we will be able to view and verify any situations which may occur. Video recordings shall be treated as protected student records under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
·All students should be at their bus stop at least 10 minutes before their pick up time. This will assist in students not missing the bus and will allow the rest of the students to be picked up in a timely manner.
·Fighting, kicking, pushing, or participating in any physical contact with other passengers or the bus driver is strictly prohibited, and those students will be subject to disciplinary action which may result in a bus suspension.
·All vehicles will be cleaned and sanitized in the AM and PM.
·All students must wear masks while riding the bus.
·Siblings will be asked to sit together.
·Students may be assigned to seats according to their pick up/drop off by the bus driver as needed.
Please pre-screen your child before bringing them to the bus stop. Any student with a fever or other COVID-19 symptoms should remain home and not ride the bus.
On the Bus
·Students should practice social distancing while waiting for, boarding, and departing the bus.
·Students will unload the bus in a structured manner upon arrival at the school from front to back by seat.
·Students from the same household may ride together while other students will be encouraged to sit in open seats where possible, filling the back rows first.
·Students should remain seated once on the bus for the duration of the ride and should avoid congregating in the aisle or switching seats.
·Students shall not extend their head, hands, arms, feet, or legs out the window, hold any object out of the window or throw objects within or out of the bus.
·Students shall not eat food, chew gum, or drink beverages on the bus.
·Conversations between students should be kept at a normal volume. Yelling and screaming on the bus will not be allowed or tolerated.
·All drivers, students and other personnel will be required to wear a protective face covering (mask) that covers the nose and mouth while riding a bus or other transportation vehicle.
