Snow delays/cancellations/early dismissals
During the 2020-21 School Year, the District intends to eliminate inclement weather days and other emergency closure days by utilizing Virtual Instruction.
In addition, The Waterbury Public School District will notify parents of any school cancellations, delays or closings by telephone to the home telephone number of record.
It is extremely important that parents keep their children's schools updated with any change in their telephone numbers so that important information can be received.
In addition, you can check the following websites for any changes in the school schedule affected by weather or other emergency situation:
On NBC30.com you can register to have automatic emails sent to you when school is delayed, dismissed early, or canceled, or if after-school activities are canceled due to weather conditions.
If Waterbury Public Schools calls 2 hour delay, we will open at 10:35 A.M. A delayed opening is called to allow more time to judge weather conditions.
A delayed opening may become a cancellation, so please keep listening to the radio and/or your television to keep up with any changes which may occur. Students and parents are asked not to call your local radio or television stations or the school. These lines should be kept open for emergencies.
In addition there may be times when school is dismissed early due to inclement weather. If an Emergency Dismissal is called for inclement weather, Bunker Hill School will close at 12:00, all after school activities will be cancelled, and buses will depart the school at approximately 12:00.
Please be sure you are prepared for these situations and that your child's teacher knows in advance of any changes in your child's normal dismissal routine on days when school dismisses early.
