Principal's Message

December 2022 Message Last Updated: 12/7/2022 5:27 PM

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL, MRS. RAZZA

December is here and winter is in the air! Children are one-third of the way done for this school year!

Parent–Teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, December 7th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. All teachers have posted their sign-up sheet on Parent Square. You can also call the school to set up an appointment if you need assistance. Teachers have so much information to share with you. If that date and time does not work for you, a mutually agreed upon date and time can be arranged with your child’s teacher. They will be happy to meet with you. Feel free to call me at the school or message me or your child’s teacher on Parent Square if you have any questions. Your involvement is essential to help your child grow.

Each month, we have been hosting evening events for our students and families. Our goal is to keep all families and students engaged in learning. We hope to see you at the future events! This month, Mrs. Thompson, Literacy Facilitator and TVP will be hosting informational literacy sessions so that you can help your child at home on fundamental literacy practices. These will be held in person on December 13th & 15th, both at 9:30 a.m. We will also host a music concert on Wednesday, December 21st at 5:30 p.m.in our school cafeteria. Be on the lookout for information for these events. We will also have a fun winter break challenge for all students and families to participate in since reading is so important. Winter break will begin on Monday, December 26th through January 2, 2023. School resumes on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Your child's daily attendance is extremely important! Every day counts! When your child is absent, he/she misses out on a lot of learning. Please plan vacations when school is not in session. Try to arrange appointments after 2:50 p.m. or on days where school is not in session as well. If your child is going to be absent, you must call the school or message your child’s teacher so that we are aware of the reason for the absence. Your child must return to school with a written note. Regular school attendance is part of the State of CT law.

I am wishing you all a safe, happy and healthy new year in 2023! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Angela Razza
