The Enlightenment School is an alterative learning program for middle and high school aged students with behavioral and truancy problems in Waterbury, CT. At Enlightenment, students are expected to set and meet high expectations for achievement for all students in order to become responsible citizens, continue education and prepare for adult life. Here at Enlightenment, teachers have created an optimal learning environment for all students to feel secure and accepted in order to acquire knowledge, develop skills and refine attitudes to maximize potential.

Mission Statement

The Alternative Programs, in partnership with families and the community, will prepare students to meet the challenges of a changing, global society. Students will be provided with high quality educational opportunities in a stable, nurturing and stimulating environment where all students can learn the value of education, develop good work ethics, and become responsible citizens.
