Dear Students, Parents, Families and Staff:
I hope this continues to find you and your family well. Thank you for your patience, understanding and support during this health crisis.
This afternoon Governor Ned Lamont extended the school closure through, at least, April 20. The District’s Academic Office continues to update the online supplemental learning plan as well as create homework packets. A new packet for Pre-K through 12th grade will be available beginning March 31 at can be picked up at any of the 25 schools continuing to serve meals between 9:00 a.m. and noon. We continue to explore online platforms, such as Google classroom, in the event schools are closed for an extended period of time. A sincere thank you to everyone who completed the technology survey.
Please continue to share any concerns or questions you may have at centraloffice@waterbury.k12.ct.us. I am personally responding to each inquiry. I can assure you that we are communicating daily with multiple agencies and departments on the national, state and local levels. We are committed to providing you with the latest information. Please stay connected to us on our website and on social media as we continue to navigate this challenging time together.
Stay safe.
Sincerely,
Dr. Verna D. Ruffin, Superintendent
