Waterbury Public Schools Announces 2020-2021 Teachers of the Year

Waterbury Public Schools, Superintendent Verna D. Ruffin and the district’s Human Capital Talent Office are delighted to announce the 2020-2021 Teachers of the Year. The Teacher of the Year Program does not attempt to select the “best” teacher but to identify, among several outstanding teachers, an educator who embodies the best of the profession paired with the drive to serve as a visible and vocal ambassador.

The district Teacher of the Year, who will be announced at a ceremony in late May, will have the opportunity to compete for Connecticut Teacher of the Year, which is traditionally announced in the fall.

The district extends its deepest congratulations to all of this year’s honorees. The teachers, selected by their school, have been recognized for their incredible contributions to the field of education. Each one has inspired a love for learning in their students and has supported their colleagues through an extraordinarily challenging year.
