MEDICAL INSURANCE

The City of Waterbury maintains a student insurance policy that provides an accidental medical expense benefit with a limit of $1,000,000 subject to a $25,000 deductible. The City’s policy provides coverage to all enrolled students for athletic injuries, all clubs/school activities and all field trips (in or out of state).

Please note: This is an Excess policy to the parent/guardian’s health plan, which is primary. The benefit of this policy is to provide medical expense coverage for specialized medical treatment that exceeds coverage provided under the parent/guardian’s personal health plan.

In the event you need to file a claim, contact the school Athletic Director or Principal within 90 days of the injury. Claims filed without the participation of authorized school personnel are not valid and cannot be processed.
