Turnaround Office

About Us

The Turnaround Office manages and oversees support and assistance to schools engaged in comprehensive school reform . Our office coordinates the efforts of the Waterbury Public Schools Superintendent’s office, the school improvement division of the State Department of Education and external providers to help these schools drive towards improved student outcomes and experiences. We manage the grant writing and submission process for all schools who received grant funding in the Commissioner’s Network and School Improvement Grants as well as conduct comprehensive evaluations of the schools in order to implement intensive school improvement plans.

The focus of the Chief Turnaround Officer is to build school level leadership capabilities in cooperation with the Assistant Superintendents, agencies and organizations that have experience and capacity in this regard as well as provide leadership development opportunities for principals and other school level leaders in turnaround eligible schools.

Our office is open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
