2025 – 2026 KINDERGARTEN ONLINE REGISTRATION
Effective July 1, 2023, in accordance with CT Substitute House Bill 5003-Public Act 23-208, children entering kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year must turn 5 on or before September 1, 2025. Children who turn 5 on September 2, 2025 through September 1, 2026, will now enter kindergarten in the 2026-2027 school year.
***Children who do not meet the new entry cutoff date may still be admitted into kindergarten upon submission of a written request from the parent or guardian to the Office of Early Childhood and schedule testing using approved district standardized measures. Please contact Tammee Gardiner at tammee.gardiner@waterbury.k12.ct.us or call 203-574-8024. The request does not guarantee admission to kindergarten.
- The following dates are for the completion of the registration process for NEW kindergarten students ONLY. You may complete the online registration any time ON or AFTER your district school’s date. Your child will be assigned to their district school based on available space.
- If your child is scheduled for immunizations or physicals after the listed registration date, you can complete the online registration with the current physical and immunizations and send the updated documents when completed.
- If a language other than English is spoken at home, your child will require a language assessment. After completing the online registration, please contact the bilingual office for an appointment at 203-573-7895 ext. 4015 or 4021.
Please note: Normal school registrations, including kindergarten, will continue throughout the year.
