My name is Jennifer Brown and I am the library media specialist for Wilson Elementary School.
Reading and writing have always been two of my biggest passions in life and I knew from an early age that I wanted to do something that would allow me to share my love of literature with others--especially young people.
I came to Waterbury Public Schools in 2019 from Schaghticoke Middle School in New Milford where I taught English Language Arts for six years. While I enjoyed teaching ELA, I wanted to do something that would allow my love of reading with more students. Having spent many hours in my local libraries when I was growing up, I realized that what I really wanted to be was a librarian, and decided to go back to school for a Masters in School Library Media from Fairfield University.
In addition, to my MA in School Library Media (2019), I hold a Masters in Teaching from Sacred Heart University (2010), and a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing from Bard College (1993).
I look forward to inspiring a lifelong love of reading in all my students in the years to come.
