Superintendent Search Process

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the City of Waterbury approved JG Consulting to conduct a nationwide search for the new Superintendent of Waterbury Public Schools. JG Consulting will facilitate community engagement events to identify the essential qualities required of the next superintendent. Based on community input, a leadership profile will be created for recruiting the future leader of the Waterbury Public Schools.

We encourage our families and community to participate during recruitment process for the new Superintendent, by attending Community Town Hall meetings, and by completing the Superintendent Search Survey. Board of Education members, staff, and students will receive invitations to complete the Superintendent Search Survey and/or to participate stakeholder focus group sessions and/or interviews.

Our school community's input is invaluable in ensuring that we find a Superintendent who will inspire, empower, and excel while leading the Waterbury Public Schools.

Waterbury RFP 8228 Selection Committee approves JG Consulting to conduct a nationwide search for new Superintendent of schools.

October 11, 2024

Waterbury Human Resources Department meets with JG Consulting to begin developing a recruitment plan.

November 6, 2024

Scheduled interviews and meetings with internal stakeholders and staff- 10:00am–4:00pm– Superintendent’s Office, 236 Grand Street, 1^st Floor.
**Town Hall Meeting with the Community. 5:30pm – 7:00pm, City Hall, 235 Grand St. 2^nd Floor.

November 7, 2024

Scheduled interviews and meetings with internal stakeholders and staff- 10:00am–4:00pm– Superintendent’s Office, 236 Grand Street, 1^st Floor.
Board of Education Workshop, Driggs Elementary School, 77 Woodland Terrace. 5:30pm
JG Consulting team will attend the Board of Education Workshop, present to the Board of Education and elicit candidate profile input from the Board members in Public Session.

November 19, 2024

Survey

All community members, families, staff, and students are invited to provide input to build a leadership profile for the next Superintendent of Waterbury Schools, by completing the Superintendent Search Survey by Friday, December 6, 2024. Survey is available in Spanish, Portuguese, Albanian and English.

To foster open feedback from constituents, all responses will be anonymized and aggregated before being presented.
